Debate: Who should determine the nature and extent of genome testing results conveyed to patients?

The British Columbia Clinical Genomics Network' Annual Conference held April 27 was entitled 'Genomic Medicine in 2015', and brought together genomics practitioners and ethicists to discuss the implications of personalized medicine in the near future. Prof. Michael Burgess, CFIS Principal and Chair in Biomedical Ethics (at UBC's W. Morris Young Centre for Applied Ethics), and Dr. Sylvie Langlois, Professor in the Department of Medical Genetics at UBC, debated the resolution, "Clinicians should determine the nature and extent of whole genome testing results conveyed to patients".
